A wave which can be expressed as the sine of a linear function of time, or space, or both. (references)

Energy

The type of alternative current generated by alternating current generators, rotary inverters, and solid-state inverters. (references)

Science

A smoothly varying wave that repeats itself; its frequency is the rate at which the fundamental shape repeats itself. Any waveform can be distilled into a combination of pure sine waves of varying frequencies and amplitudes. (references)

Specialty Definition: Sine wave

(From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia)

An ideal sine wave is a waveform that is identical to (the graphss of each wave are the same as) the generalized sine function y = Asin[ω(xα)] + C, where A is the amplitude, ω is the angular frequency (2π/P where P is the wavelength), α is the phase shift, and C is the vertical offset.
