Severance is a town located in Weld County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 597.

Geography


Severance is located at 40°32'7" North, 104°51'3" West (40.535208, -104.850761)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²). 5.4 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.27% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 597 people, 201 households, and 162 families residing in the town. The population density is 111.4/km² (288.5/mi²). There are 207 housing units at an average density of 38.6/km² (100.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 91.46% White, 0.34% African American, 0.67% Native American, 0.34% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 5.19% from other races, and 2.01% from two or more races. 11.39% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 201 households out of which 52.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.7% are married couples living together, 8.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.4% are non-families. 12.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 1.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.97 and the average family size is 3.31. In the town the population is spread out with 35.0% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 41.4% from 25 to 44, 14.7% from 45 to 64, and 3.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 105.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males. The median income for a household in the town is $50,625, and the median income for a family is $55,781. Males have a median income of $40,375 versus $26,645 for females. The per capita income for the town is $17,625. 7.5% of the population and 2.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 7.7% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.

Severance is a city located in Doniphan County, Kansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 108.

Geography


Severance is located at 39°46'4" North, 95°15'1" West (39.767644, -95.250303)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²). 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 108 people, 46 households, and 28 families residing in the city. The population density is 320.8/km² (841.8/mi²). There are 53 housing units at an average density of 157.4/km² (413.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 46 households out of which 34.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.5% are married couples living together, 15.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 32.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.35 and the average family size is 3.00. In the city the population is spread out with 28.7% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 102.6 males. The median income for a household in the city is $25,313, and the median income for a family is $27,083. Males have a median income of $25,625 versus $15,500 for females. The per capita income for the city is $13,690. 26.6% of the population and 21.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 41.9% are under the age of 18 and 29.4% are 65 or older.
