A heavy, smooth, high-quality satin made from continuous-filament silk or man-made-fibre yarns, suitable for wedding gowns, evening dresses, evening shoes, and jockeys'blouses, traditionally with 300 or more ends per inch and sufficient picks to ensure a well-constructed cloth.
