Medicine

Public hospitals, nursing homes, sanatoria and private nonprofit making institutions may, on request, become integrated into the public service while preserving the own status. Those private institutions desirous of participating in the State system enter into a contractual-licensing aggreement with the public service. A minimum capacity is required, guaranteeing continuous medical cover and a specified level of care:50 surgical beds, 40 medical beds, 15-25 obstetric beds.
