Hollies are shrubs and trees of the genus Ilex. Many of them are highly decorative. Some have leaves with widely-spaced, spine-tipped leaves, while others have simple leaves.
Holly plants are male and female. Only the female has berries, but requires a male as a pollenizer. Also bees are required as wind pollination is negligable.

Holly is a town located in Prowers County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,048.Geography
Holly is located at 38°3'16" North, 102°7'31" West (38.054520, -102.125398)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.8 mi²). 1.9 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,048 people, 369 households, and 250 families residing in the town. The population density is 539.5/km² (1,388.5/mi²). There are 449 housing units at an average density of 231.1/km² (594.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 75.10% White, 0.00% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 23.66% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races. 35.97% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 369 households out of which 39.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.0% are non-families. 27.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.71 and the average family size is 3.36. In the town the population is spread out with 32.0% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 24.0% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 103.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.2 males. The median income for a household in the town is $24,917, and the median income for a family is $31,979. Males have a median income of $23,000 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the town is $14,246. 27.9% of the population and 21.7% of families are below the poverty line. Holly is a village located in Oakland County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 6,135.Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 8.0 km² (3.1 mi²). 7.2 km² (2.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 9.45% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 6,135 people, 2,412 households, and 1,565 families residing in the village. The population density is 852.1/km² (2,204.6/mi²). There are 2,509 housing units at an average density of 348.5/km² (901.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.14% White, 1.29% African American, 0.44% Native American, 0.41% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.01% from other races, and 1.70% from two or more races. 3.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,412 households out of which 34.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.5% are married couples living together, 11.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.1% are non-families. 28.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 3.10. In the village the population is spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 35.6% from 25 to 44, 17.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.0 males. The median income for a household in the village is $46,436, and the median income for a family is $54,344. Males have a median income of $42,037 versus $27,078 for females. The per capita income for the village is $19,988. 7.3% of the population and 4.3% of families are below the poverty line.
