Mining | A traveling hopper for receiving, weighing or measuring, and distributing bulk materials. Usually fitted with a scale, either manually operated or of the automatic recording type. Weigh larries may be suspended between overhead tracks or carried on rails mounted below them. They may be hand-pushed or power-propelled, and some designs provide a riding platform or cab for the operator. A remote-control device for operating the bunkeror bin gates is usually mounted on the larry chassis. (references) |
