Mining

A hypabyssal rock composed essentially of large phenocrysts of alkalic feldspar, sodic pyroxene, amphibole, and nepheline with smaller phenocrysts of accessory olivine. Feldspar, pyroxene, and amphibole recur in the groundmass. A porphyritic variety of olivine-bearing phonolite.Syn:uraninite. (references)
