A bill of exchange which finances a short-term, self-liquidating commercial transaction ; a draft which accompanies a shipment of goods, calling on the buyer to pay the amount involved at a specified future date ; instrument where the title passes on delivery or delivery and endorsement, where the current holder can sue in his own name, where no notice of assignment need be given to the person liable on the instrument, and where a holder in due course takes, free from any defect, in the title of his predecessors. Examples include bills of exchange, checks, and divided warrants ; are documents of value to order or to bearer, which can be used in business as means of payment and credit; they include, among others, the bill of exchange, the cheque, and the bearer receipt.
