Mining | A vessel to remove solids from the tailings effluent as in a coal washery. The tank is about 60 ft (18 m) in diameter and 10 ft (3 m) deep. The tailings are fed in at the center with a flocculant. As the suspension travels from the center to overflow at the perimeter of the tank, the solids settle out and the clear water overflows, is collected, and isreturned to the washer for reuse.
