SUPERVISED CONTROL

Specialty Definition: SUPERVISED CONTROL

DomainDefinition

Food & Agriculture

Pest control method in which threshold levels have to be decided for each particular pest, below which no control measures are taken. The crop is sprayed at once if infestation reaches some closely defined stage. This system must necessarily be coupled with an accurate method of monitoring. Below the critical level it is assumed that pests are kept in check by some natural means. Source: European Union. (references)
