Political Economy | DENMARK | Denmark recently finalized a regulation, which will phase out certain industrial greenhouse gases, including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6). The Danish government will phase out import, sale, and use of these gases and new products containing them beginning in 2002, with a complete ban in effect by January 1, 2006. There are exemptions for certain products, including small refrigerating systems containing HFCs, medical aerosol sprays, vaccine coolers, and lab equipment, and all production for export is exempt.
