Tends retort that steams woodstock to make it pliable: Places stock into retort or loads stock on conveyor or car that conveys material into retort. Turns lever to seal retort door and turns valve to admit steam into retort. Observes pressure gauge and informs SUPERVISOR, MACHINING (woodworking) if pressure varies from standards. Removes steamed stock from retort and conveys stock to succeeding work station. May remove steamed stock from retort and place it in jigs to dry and cool. (references)
