Second audio program

(From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia)

Second[ary] audio program[ming] (SAP) is an auxiliary sound channel for television that can be broadcast or transmitted both over the air and by cable TV. It is often used for an alternate language, or for the Descriptive Video Service (DVS) offered in the U.S by PBS (the Public Broadcasting Service).

SAP is part of MTS, the multichannel television sound standard set by the National Television Systems Committee in the U.S. The NTSC video format and MTS are also used in Canada and Mexico, and in Japan.

SAP (and other MTS features such as stereo and back-to-studio) travels on a subcarrier of the video signal itself rather than its radio carrier, so it stays with the video even onto videotape.

Socialdemokratiska arbetarpartiet

(From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia)

Sveriges Socialdemokratiska Arbetarparti, or the Social Democrat Labour Party of Sweden, is a political party in Sweden. The party was founded in 1889, and in 1917 a split occurred when the communists left to form a separate party.

Ideologically the party is Social Democrat and has a base of blue-collar workers, intellectuals, and public sector employees. It derives much of its power from strong links with the National Swedish Confederation of Trade Unions or LO, which represents around 90 percent of Sweden's blue-collar workers. The party program combines a commitment to social welfare programs and government direction of the economy.
