Saline is a village located in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 296.

Geography


Saline is located at 32°9'51" North, 92°58'38" West (32.164170, -92.977127)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²). 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 296 people, 111 households, and 85 families residing in the village. The population density is 96.9/km² (249.9/mi²). There are 133 housing units at an average density of 43.5/km² (112.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 74.66% White, 25.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. 1.69% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 111 households out of which 36.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% are married couples living together, 16.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% are non-families. 23.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.67 and the average family size is 3.13. In the village the population is spread out with 30.1% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 25.0% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.7 males. The median income for a household in the village is $26,500, and the median income for a family is $31,250. Males have a median income of $26,458 versus $16,719 for females. The per capita income for the village is $11,364. 21.9% of the population and 17.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 26.1% are under the age of 18 and 17.2% are 65 or older.

Saline is a city in Washtenaw County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 8,034.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.1 km² (4.7 mi²). 12.0 km² (4.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.64% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 8,034 people, 3,148 households, and 2,134 families residing in the city. The population density is 670.0/km² (1,736.3/mi²). There are 3,213 housing units at an average density of 267.9/km² (694.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 95.69% White, 0.56% African American, 0.32% Native American, 1.94% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 1.11% from two or more races. 1.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 3,148 households out of which 38.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.2% are non-families. 27.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 3.09.

In the city the population is spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 86.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 81.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $59,382, and the median income for a family is $73,162. Males have a median income of $51,391 versus $32,254 for females. The per capita income for the city is $26,208. 4.0% of the population and 3.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 4.0% are under the age of 18 and 4.3% are 65 or older.
