Census | An area within which a post office delivers mail to residents living on rural delivery routes, as designated by the U.S. Postal Service. While many housing units in a rural delivery area use noncity-style addresses, some rural delivery routes deliver mail to a substantial number of housing units that use house-number- and-street-name addresses. See address, city delivery area, E-911 address, noncity-style address, and nondelivery area. (references) |
