Pace is a town located in Santa Rosa County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 7,393.

Geography


Pace is located at 30°35'44" North, 87°9'13" West (30.595593, -87.153712)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 24.3 km² (9.4 mi²). 24.3 km² (9.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 7,393 people, 2,805 households, and 2,092 families residing in the town. The population density is 304.3/km² (788.0/mi²). There are 3,096 housing units at an average density of 127.4/km² (330.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.76% White, 1.33% African American, 1.57% Native American, 1.04% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.49% from other races, and 1.77% from two or more races. 1.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,805 households out of which 37.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% are married couples living together, 13.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.4% are non-families. 20.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.64 and the average family size is 3.01. In the town the population is spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.3 males. The median income for a household in the town is $36,538, and the median income for a family is $41,878. Males have a median income of $31,195 versus $21,648 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,591. 12.3% of the population and 10.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 13.5% are under the age of 18 and 12.8% are 65 or older.

Pace is a town located in Bolivar County, Mississippi. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 364.

Geography

Pace is located at 33°47'30" North, 90°51'30" West (33.791797, -90.858289)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and 6.25% is water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 364 people, 129 households, and 95 families residing in the town. The population density is 936.9/km² (2,365.3/mi²). There are 131 housing units at an average density of 337.2/km² (851.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 13.74% White, 82.69% African American, 1.10% Native American, 1.65% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 1.37% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 129 households out of which 35.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.1% are married couples living together, 30.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% are non-families. 22.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.82 and the average family size is 3.33.

In the town the population is spread out with 30.2% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 82.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 75.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $24,219, and the median income for a family is $27,857. Males have a median income of $21,042 versus $17,083 for females. The per capita income for the town is $12,434. 26.0% of the population and 24.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 36.6% are under the age of 18 and 13.2% are 65 or older.

Pacing horse

A pacing horse is a standardbred horse with a lateral gait – that is, its forelegs move in unison with the hindlegs on the same side. The left foreleg moves in the same direction as the left hindleg and the right foreleg in the same direction as the right hindleg. The other gait used by standardbred horses is the trot.
