North West Leicestershire is a district in Leicestershire, England. Its main towns are Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Coalville.It contains East Midlands Airport, which has flights to the rest of Britain and various places in Europe. It is also notable for Castle Donington, site of Donington Park, a grand-prix circuit and site for music festivals.
In Parliament, it is represented by David Taylor (Labour).
This district has a long history of mineral extraction, with coal, brick clay, gravel and limestone amongst the products. all the deep coal mines are now closed, but opencast continues.
