Millstone is a borough located in Somerset County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 410.Geography
Millstone is located at 40°29'58" North, 74°35'27" West (40.499453, -74.590875)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.8 mi²). 1.9 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 410 people, 169 households, and 126 families residing in the borough. The population density is 211.1/km² (547.1/mi²). There are 173 housing units at an average density of 89.1/km² (230.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 97.56% White, 0.98% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.98% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.49% from two or more races. 3.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 169 households out of which 25.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% are married couples living together, 9.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.9% are non-families. 18.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.79. In the borough the population is spread out with 19.3% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 34.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 99.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.3 males. The median income for a household in the borough is $76,353, and the median income for a family is $83,118. Males have a median income of $60,156 versus $36,406 for females. The per capita income for the borough is $30,694. 4.6% of the population and 3.1% of families are below the poverty line.
