Refers clients to community resources and other organizations. Compiles records and prepares reports. Reviews service plan and performs follow-up to determine quantity and quality of service provided client and status of client's case. Accesses and records client and community resource information, manually or using computer equipped with keyboard, to input and retrieve information. May secure supplementary information, such as employment, medical records, or school reports. May specialize in providing, monitoring, and evaluating services provided to older adults. May determine client's eligibility for financial assistance. May work in collaboration with other professional disciplines. May be required to visit clients in their homes or in institutions. Usually required to have knowledge and skill in case work method acquired through degree program at school of social work. May be required to possess state license or certificate. When rendering advisory services to agencies, groups, or individuals, may be designated Social-Work Consultant, Casework (social ser.).
