Mining

A seal made from polyvinyl chloride reinforced with glass fiber. It is inflated by compressed air and can cover or seal roadways up to 12 ft wide and 10" ft in height (about 4 m wide and 3 m in height). It is used to isolate a fire, or heating, and reduce the volume of smoke and gases so that erection of stoppings can proceed in respirable air without workersbeing hampered by breathing apparatus.
