Mining | A traverser that moves mine cars laterally and vertically by traveling on an inclined plane. It is sometimes used at the pit bottom for the transfer of cars from a higher decking level to a lower decking level on the opposite side rail track. The cars are held upright in a frame and can handle loaded or empty cars to and from the two levels.See also:traverser. (references) |
