Flasher is a city located in Morton County, North Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 285.Geography
Flasher is located at 46°27'18" North, 101°13'59" West (46.454942, -101.232920)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.41% is water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 285 people, 130 households, and 72 families residing in the city. The population density is 157.2/km² (408.0/mi²). There are 155 housing units at an average density of 85.5/km² (221.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.89% White, 0.00% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.40% from two or more races. 1.05% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 130 households out of which 26.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.7% are married couples living together, 3.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 44.6% are non-families. 40.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 26.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.19 and the average family size is 2.94. In the city the population is spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 19.3% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 30.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 93.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.8 males. The median income for a household in the city is $20,313, and the median income for a family is $40,556. Males have a median income of $24,167 versus $28,750 for females. The per capita income for the city is $13,970. 16.4% of the population and 9.7% of families are below the poverty line.
