Mining

An instrument similar to the ordinary light microscope, but producing a much magnified image, which is received on a fluorescent screen and is recorded by using a camera. Instead of a beam of light to illuminate the material, a parallel beam of electrons is used. Its magnification is up toabout 100,000 times. (references)
