Dynamic stationing:A method of keeping a drill ship or semi-submersible drilling platform on target, over the hole during drilling operations where the water is too deep for the use of anchors. This is accomplished by the use of thrusters activated by underwater sensing devices that signal when the vessel has moved a few degrees off its drilling station. Source: European Union.
