Drew is a plantation located in Penobscot County, Maine. As of the 2000 census, the plantation had a total population of 57.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the plantation has a total area of 100.4 km² (38.8 mi²). 97.4 km² (37.6 mi²) of it is land and 3.0 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.02% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 57 people, 17 households, and 12 families residing in the plantation. The population density is 0.6/km² (1.5/mi²). There are 37 housing units at an average density of 0.4/km² (1.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the plantation is 91.23% White, 5.26% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 3.51% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 17 households out of which 35.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.6% are married couples living together, 0.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% are non-families. 23.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 23.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. Drew is a city located in Sunflower County, Mississippi. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,434.

Geography


Drew is located at 33°48'36" North, 90°31'50" West (33.809923, -90.530530)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 km² (1.1 mi²). 2.9 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 2,434 people, 811 households, and 606 families residing in the city. The population density is 839.1/km² (2,172.6/mi²). There are 922 housing units at an average density of 317.8/km² (823.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 25.27% White, 73.58% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.37% from other races, and 0.49% from two or more races. 1.56% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 811 households out of which 42.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.3% are married couples living together, 35.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.2% are non-families. 21.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.00 and the average family size is 3.51. In the city the population is spread out with 36.6% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 16.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 27 years. For every 100 females there are 82.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 71.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $19,167, and the median income for a family is $20,469. Males have a median income of $22,351 versus $18,693 for females. The per capita income for the city is $8,569. 40.5% of the population and 36.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 54.6% are under the age of 18 and 23.0% are 65 or older.
