Medicine | Pacing mode where the stimulus is emitted at the set escape rate in the absence of spontaneous activity. If spontaneous activity is sensed after the end of the pacemaker refractory period, the pacer output is inhibited and a new timing cycle begins. The new timing cycle may be of different duration, depending on whether it was begun by a paced or sensed event [VE1]. Source: European Union. (references) |
