CONJUGATE JOINT SYSTEMS

Specialty Definition: CONJUGATE JOINT SYSTEMS

DomainDefinition

Mining

Sets of intersecting joints that are sometimes perpendicular or rectilinear, and often mineralized to form vein systems. Joint patterns such as these are believed to be the result of compressive stresses that were relieved by joint formation rather than the formation of a singlefissure. (references)
