Blossom is the name given to the flowers of stone fruit trees and of some other small plants with a similar appearance that flower profusely but for an extremely short period of time. Blossom is either pink or white depending on the species - cherry blossom and nectarine/peach blossoms are pink, plum and apple blossoms are white.

Blossom is a city located in Lamar County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,439.Geography
Blossom is located at 33°39'41" North, 95°23'1" West (33.661395, -95.383675)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.6 km² (2.5 mi²). 6.5 km² (2.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.57% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,439 people, 571 households, and 424 families residing in the city. The population density is 221.4/km² (573.2/mi²). There are 606 housing units at an average density of 93.2/km² (241.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 94.30% White, 2.08% African American, 1.18% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.39% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. 6.67% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 571 households out of which 34.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% are married couples living together, 9.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.7% are non-families. 23.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 2.96. In the city the population is spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.2 males. The median income for a household in the city is $28,235, and the median income for a family is $33,750. Males have a median income of $27,813 versus $21,136 for females. The per capita income for the city is $15,143. 12.7% of the population and 10.9% of families are below the poverty line.
