Bloomer is a city located in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,347.Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.1 km² (2.8 mi²). 7.0 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.18% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 3,347 people, 1,424 households, and 901 families residing in the city. The population density is 480.4/km² (1,246.0/mi²). There are 1,487 housing units at an average density of 213.4 persons/km² (553.6 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 99.13% White, 0.06% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. 0.33% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,424 households out of which 27.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.7% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 36.7% are non-families. 32.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.31 and the average family size is 2.92. In the city the population is spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 20.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 88.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.4 males. The median income for a household in the city is $38,715, and the median income for a family is $47,108. Males have a median income of $35,230 versus $19,767 for females. The per capita income for the city is $21,288. 5.4% of the population and 3.1% of families are below the poverty line. There are 321 households out of which 38.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.6% are married couples living together, 4.7% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 23.1% are non-families. 17.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.88 and the average family size is 3.29. In the town the population is spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 105.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 101.9 males. The median income for a household in the town is $40,057, and the median income for a family is $44,028. Males have a median income of $29,327 versus $24,615 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,243. 6.4% of the population and 4.3% of families are below the poverty line.
