WHITING'S COUNTERBALANCING SYSTEM

Specialty Definition: WHITING'S COUNTERBALANCING SYSTEM

DomainDefinition

Building & Civil Engineering

The counterweight is housed in a chamber which has a large inlet pipe with its mouth just below the full reservoir level and a small exit pipe kept constantly open. The outflow is less than inflow and hence a buoyancy is exerted over the counterweight, which helps in its automatic operation. Source: European Union. (references)
