A numerical method used in gravity interpretation for calculating the depth to the source of many typical total field anomalies. The method involves the computation of the curvature of the observed total intensity by superposition of a special grid over the intensity contours. The curvature is proportional to the second vertical derivative of themagnetic intensity. (references)
