An enzyme that catalyzes reversibly the conversion of D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate to dihydroxyacetone phosphate. A deficiency in humans causes nonspherocytic hemolytic disease (anemia, hemolytic, congenital nonspherocytic). EC 5.3.1.1. (references)
