Mount Zion is a city located in Carroll County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,275.

Geography


Mount Zion is located at 33°37'52" North, 85°10'48" West (33.631113, -85.179868)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 25.7 km² (9.9 mi²). 25.3 km² (9.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.71% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 1,275 people, 434 households, and 351 families residing in the city. The population density is 50.5/km² (130.7/mi²). There are 467 housing units at an average density of 18.5/km² (47.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 94.12% White, 3.76% African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.94% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 0.71% from two or more races. 0.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 434 households out of which 44.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.6% are married couples living together, 13.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.9% are non-families. 15.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.94 and the average family size is 3.27. In the city the population is spread out with 31.3% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 34.4% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 107.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $41,912, and the median income for a family is $43,438. Males have a median income of $31,959 versus $20,662 for females. The per capita income for the city is $16,080. 12.9% of the population and 11.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 15.8% are under the age of 18 and 22.6% are 65 or older.




Mount Zion is a village located in Macon County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 4,845.

As of the census of 2000, there are 4,845 people, 1,819 households, and 1,409 families residing in the village. The population density is 496.2/km² (1,285.7/mi²). There are 1,884 housing units at an average density of 192.9/km² (500.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.08% White, 0.25% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.76% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.68% from two or more races. 0.25% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,819 households out of which 39.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.2% are married couples living together, 8.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% are non-families. 19.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.63 and the average family size is 3.03. In the village the population is spread out with 28.3% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 100.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.7 males. The median income for a household in the village is $54,936, and the median income for a family is $60,530. Males have a median income of $46,133 versus $25,438 for females. The per capita income for the village is $22,784. 5.0% of the population and 4.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 6.4% are under the age of 18 and 5.1% are 65 or older.
