Mound is located at 32°20'15" North, 91°1'32" West (32.337430, -91.025694)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 12 people, 4 households, and 4 families residing in the village. The population density is 19.3/km² (49.3/mi²). There are 5 housing units at an average density of 8.0/km² (20.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. Mound is a city located in Hennepin County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 9,435.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.7 km² (4.9 mi²). 7.6 km² (2.9 mi²) of it is land and 5.1 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 40.04% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 9,435 people, 3,982 households, and 2,560 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,239.1/km² (3,203.8/mi²). There are 4,118 housing units at an average density of 540.8/km² (1,398.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.24% White, 0.64% African American, 0.19% Native American, 1.30% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. 0.96% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 3,982 households out of which 30.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.5% are married couples living together, 7.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.7% are non-families. 28.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.93. In the city the population is spread out with 23.9% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 35.6% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 108.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $60,671, and the median income for a family is $68,396. Males have a median income of $44,437 versus $34,125 for females. The per capita income for the city is $30,309. 2.7% of the population and 0.9% of families are below the poverty line.
