Geography


Moro is located at 34°47'40" North, 90°59'24" West (34.794503, -90.990119)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.5 km² (0.9 mi²). 2.5 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census2 of 2000, there are 241 people, 109 households, and 75 families residing in the town. The population density is 97.9/km² (255.0/mi²). There are 115 housing units at an average density of 46.7/km² (121.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.34% White, 1.66% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 109 households out of which 22.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.6% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.21 and the average family size is 2.72. In the town the population is spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 22.8% from 25 to 44, 28.6% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 102.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.2 males. The median income for a household in the town is $27,857, and the median income for a family is $35,625. Males have a median income of $21,667 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the town is $13,264. 16.5% of the population and 12.3% of families are below the poverty line. According to the United States Census Bureau, the plantation has a total area of 95.0 km² (36.7 mi²). 92.1 km² (35.6 mi²) of it is land and 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.00% water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 63 people, 25 households, and 18 families residing in the plantation. The population density is 0.7/km² (1.8/mi²). There are 85 housing units at an average density of 0.9/km² (2.4/mi²). As of the census of 2000, there are 337 people, 133 households, and 94 families residing in the city. The population density is 271.1/km² (696.4/mi²). There are 150 housing units at an average density of 120.7/km² (310.0/mi²).
