Marquette is a town located in Green Lake County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 481.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 105.2 km² (40.6 mi²). 79.7 km² (30.8 mi²) of it is land and 25.5 km² (9.9 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 24.27% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 481 people, 197 households, and 127 families residing in the town. The population density is 6.0/km² (15.6/mi²). There are 372 housing units at an average density of 4.7 persons/km² (12.1 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.34% White, 0.21% African American, 0.42% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.04% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.87% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 197 households out of which 28.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% are married couples living together, 5.6% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 35.5% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 3.06. In the town the population is spread out with 23.1% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 95.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.7 males. The median income for a household in the town is $39,018, and the median income for a family is $45,357. Males have a median income of $31,944 versus $21,538 for females. The per capita income for the town is $17,537. 5.7% of the population and 5.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 7.8% are under the age of 18 and 2.6% are 65 or older.

Marquette is a village located in Green Lake County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 169.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 169 people, 69 households, and 52 families residing in the village. The population density is 176.4/km² (457.6/mi²). There are 140 housing units at an average density of 146.1 persons/km² (379.1 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.82% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.59% from other races, and 0.59% from two or more races. 0.59% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 69 households out of which 21.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.8% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 23.2% are non-families. 18.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 2.75. In the village the population is spread out with 20.7% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 20.7% from 25 to 44, 29.0% from 45 to 64, and 24.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 48 years. For every 100 females there are 113.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 109.4 males. The median income for a household in the village is $36,667, and the median income for a family is $35,417. Males have a median income of $34,250 versus $22,250 for females. The per capita income for the village is $17,053. 4.5% of the population and 3.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 0.0% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.
