ES which helps chemists determine the dependence of mass spectrometric fragmentation on substructural features. It does this by discovering fragmentation rules for given classes of molecules. The system derives these rules from training instances consisting of sets of molecules with known three-dimensional structures and mass spectra. META-DENDRAL is implemented in INTERLISP.
