Occupations

Directs sports program at winter resort and coordinates activities of resort employees: Advises resort management or owner of optimum dates for opening and closing resort, taking into consideration weather predictions, reservations backlog from guests, and experience of previous season. Orders supplies, such as skiing and skating rental gear and provisions. Coordinates activities of custodial staff, food-service workers, and other resort employees to ensure availability of facilities on opening date. Trains winter-sports instructors and service personnel. Ensures that skating rink and ski slopes are suitable for use by public, notifying resort personnel to take appropriate action according to weather conditions. Inventories supplies and keeps records of weather conditions. Issues weather reports to resort management. Arranges for snow removal from roads by public authorities.
