Luxemburg is a town located in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,402.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 88.6 km² (34.2 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 1,402 people, 445 households, and 383 families residing in the town. The population density is 15.8/km² (41.0/mi²). There are 459 housing units at an average density of 5.2 persons/km² (13.4 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.86% White, 0.14% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.50% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. 0.64% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 445 households out of which 45.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.3% are married couples living together, 5.2% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 13.9% are non-families. 11.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.15 and the average family size is 3.41. In the town the population is spread out with 31.4% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 22.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 101.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males. The median income for a household in the town is $54,875, and the median income for a family is $56,167. Males have a median income of $35,486 versus $23,348 for females. The per capita income for the town is $19,322. 0.9% of the population and 0.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 0.2% are under the age of 18 and 2.5% are 65 or older.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.4 km² (2.1 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 1,935 people, 719 households, and 524 families residing in the village. The population density is 360.9/km² (935.7/mi²). There are 754 housing units at an average density of 140.6 persons/km² (364.6 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.86% White, 0.10% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.26% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. 0.47% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 719 households out of which 39.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% are married couples living together, 9.9% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 27.1% are non-families. 22.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.63 and the average family size is 3.11. In the village the population is spread out with 28.2% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 32.8% from 25 to 44, 16.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.4 males. The median income for a household in the village is $45,000, and the median income for a family is $50,795. Males have a median income of $32,813 versus $23,897 for females. The per capita income for the village is $17,856. 5.6% of the population and 2.6% of families are below the poverty line. Geography


Luxemburg is located at 42°36'17" North, 91°4'36" West (42.604830, -91.076542)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.2 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 246 people, 92 households, and 72 families residing in the city. The population density is 206.5/km² (540.2/mi²). There are 94 housing units at an average density of 78.9/km² (206.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 92 households out of which 31.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.7% are married couples living together, 4.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% are non-families. 20.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.67 and the average family size is 3.10.
