Tends gas-fired evaporator that recovers gold, platinum, and palladium from electrolyte used in gold-refining tanks: Adds liquid and gaseous reagents to electrolyte and heats it in evaporator to precipitate metals. Separates each precipitate from solution, using porcelain filters. Heats platinum and palladium precipitates in crucible furnaces to make $T3sponge.$T1 Breaks up sponge preparatory to shipment, using pliers. (references)
