Tends lathe that polishes internal surfaces of holes in jewel bearings: Inserts jewel bearing into chuck of lathe. Starts lathe and polishes surfaces by inserting splint coated with ground diamond dust into hole of bearing. Cleans hole with splint dipped in benzene. Inspects hole under magnifying glass to ensure that polished surfaces conform to standard. (references)
