The Inter-American Development Bank, for four decades, has supported Latin American and Caribbean economic/social development and regional integration by lending mainly to public institutions. The Bank is owned by the following 46 member countries:

Another major development in the port sector is a four year $442 million project, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank to improve safety and environmental control in the port of Buenos Aires and neighboring areas and waterways. (references)
