Holy Cross is a city located in Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 227.

Geography


Holy Cross is located at 62°11'53" North, 159°46'24" West (62.198048, -159.773418)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 97.0 km² (37.4 mi²). 81.0 km² (31.3 mi²) of it is land and 16.0 km² (6.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 16.51% water.

Demographics


As of the census2 of 2000, there are 227 people, 64 households, and 49 families residing in the city. The population density is 2.8/km² (7.3/mi²). There are 81 housing units at an average density of 1.0/km² (2.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 3.52% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 96.48% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 64 households out of which 43.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.9% are married couples living together, 15.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% are non-families. 17.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.55 and the average family size is 4.00. In the city the population is spread out with 38.8% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 28.6% from 25 to 44, 17.2% from 45 to 64, and 7.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 27 years. For every 100 females there are 136.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 127.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $21,875, and the median income for a family is $26,250. Males have a median income of $37,813 versus $16,250 for females. The per capita income for the city is $8,542. 45.6% of the population and 33.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 45.2% are under the age of 18 and 47.1% are 65 or older.

Holy Cross is a city located in Dubuque County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 339.

Geography


Holy Cross is located at 42°36'1" North, 90°59'40" West (42.600334, -90.994557)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 339 people, 132 households, and 97 families residing in the city. The population density is 467.5/km² (1,191.8/mi²). There are 139 housing units at an average density of 191.7/km² (488.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 132 households out of which 36.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.4% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.8% are non-families. 22.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.06. In the city the population is spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 18.0% from 45 to 64, and 18.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 111.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 103.4 males. The median income for a household in the city is $38,125, and the median income for a family is $41,136. Males have a median income of $30,694 versus $18,333 for females. The per capita income for the city is $16,629. 8.7% of the population and 6.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 12.9% are under the age of 18 and 17.8% are 65 or older.
