Hershey is a village located in Lincoln County, Nebraska. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 572.

Geography


Hershey is located at 41°9'29" North, 101°0'6" West (41.158118, -101.001721)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 572 people, 232 households, and 167 families residing in the village. The population density is 441.7/km² (1,142.4/mi²). There are 249 housing units at an average density of 192.3/km² (497.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 91.61% White, 0.17% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.52% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 6.82% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. 9.62% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 232 households out of which 34.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% are non-families. 23.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 2.93. In the village the population is spread out with 28.1% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 88.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.4 males. The median income for a household in the village is $36,875, and the median income for a family is $43,000. Males have a median income of $31,500 versus $16,848 for females. The per capita income for the village is $15,791. 9.9% of the population and 9.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 8.7% are under the age of 18 and 11.9% are 65 or older.

Hershey is a town located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 12,771. The town is home to the Hershey's chocolate company and the Hershey theme park.

It is also the site of the annual Antique Automobile Club of America auto show, the largest event of its type worldwide.

Geography

Hershey is located at 40°16'42" North, 76°39'4" West (40.278423, -76.651240)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 37.4 km² (14.4 mi²). 37.3 km² (14.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.35% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 12,771 people, 5,451 households, and 3,297 families residing in the town. The population density is 342.2/km² (886.5/mi²). There are 5,887 housing units at an average density of 157.7/km² (408.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 91.07% White, 2.12% African American, 0.06% Native American, 4.87% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.49% from other races, and 1.38% from two or more races. 1.55% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 5,451 households out of which 24.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.9% are married couples living together, 7.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.5% are non-families. 33.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.22 and the average family size is 2.86.

In the town the population is spread out with 20.3% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 23.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 86.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $45,098, and the median income for a family is $63,385. Males have a median income of $42,013 versus $31,086 for females. The per capita income for the town is $28,487. 6.9% of the population and 3.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 6.9% are under the age of 18 and 4.7% are 65 or older.
