Happy Valley is a town located in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 489.

Geography


Happy Valley is located at 59°56'54" North, 151°43'7" West (59.948424, -151.718711)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 229.6 km² (88.7 mi²). 229.4 km² (88.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.08% water.

Demographics


As of the census2 of 2000, there are 489 people, 196 households, and 131 families residing in the town. The population density is 2.1/km² (5.5/mi²). There are 398 housing units at an average density of 1.7/km² (4.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 88.34% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 6.13% Native American, 0.41% Asian, 0.41% Pacific Islander, 0.82% from other races, and 3.89% from two or more races. 2.86% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 196 households out of which 28.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% are married couples living together, 4.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.7% are non-families. 22.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 2.94. In the town the population is spread out with 22.3% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 24.7% from 25 to 44, 31.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 118.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 122.2 males. The median income for a household in the town is $30,139, and the median income for a family is $40,156. Males have a median income of $47,917 versus $20,469 for females. The per capita income for the town is $19,377. 17.5% of the population and 10.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 28.2% are under the age of 18 and 6.8% are 65 or older.

Happy Valley is a city located in Clackamas County, Oregon. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 4,519.

Geography


Happy Valley is located at 45°26'45" North, 122°32'1" West (45.445812, -122.533674)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.0 km² (2.7 mi²). 7.0 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 4,519 people, 1,431 households, and 1,302 families residing in the city. The population density is 646.2/km² (1,674.2/mi²). There are 1,500 housing units at an average density of 214.5/km² (555.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 87.39% White, 0.77% African American, 0.29% Native American, 8.85% Asian, 0.15% Pacific Islander, 0.44% from other races, and 2.10% from two or more races. 1.88% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,431 households out of which 49.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 83.4% are married couples living together, 4.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 9.0% are non-families. 6.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.16 and the average family size is 3.28. In the city the population is spread out with 31.4% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.2 males. The median income for a household in the city is $93,131, and the median income for a family is $95,922. Males have a median income of $68,125 versus $43,667 for females. The per capita income for the city is $36,665. 1.2% of the population and 0.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 1.2% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.
