Hickory Hills is a city located in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,926.

Geography


Hickory Hills is located at 41°43'26" North, 87°49'37" West (41.723832, -87.827054)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.3 km² (2.8 mi²). 7.3 km² (2.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 13,926 people, 5,216 households, and 3,698 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,900.0/km² (4,913.0/mi²). There are 5,332 housing units at an average density of 727.5/km² (1,881.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 90.89% White, 1.24% African American, 0.23% Native American, 2.08% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 2.38% from other races, and 3.18% from two or more races. 8.11% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 5,216 households out of which 31.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.9% are married couples living together, 9.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.1% are non-families. 24.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 3.22. In the city the population is spread out with 23.9% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males. The median income for a household in the city is $54,779, and the median income for a family is $61,972. Males have a median income of $46,606 versus $30,977 for females. The per capita income for the city is $23,747. 5.5% of the population and 4.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 5.6% are under the age of 18 and 5.6% are 65 or older.

Hickory Hills is a town located in Jackson County, Mississippi. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,046.

Geography


Hickory Hills is located at 30°27'18" North, 88°38'26" West (30.454907, -88.640579)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 14.8 km² (5.7 mi²). 13.9 km² (5.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.28% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 3,046 people, 1,085 households, and 848 families residing in the town. The population density is 219.0/km² (567.4/mi²). There are 1,263 housing units at an average density of 90.8/km² (235.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 82.11% White, 14.31% African American, 0.56% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.82% from other races, and 1.71% from two or more races. 2.50% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,085 households out of which 40.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% are married couples living together, 12.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.8% are non-families. 17.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.80 and the average family size is 3.12. In the town the population is spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 102.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.7 males. The median income for a household in the town is $44,479, and the median income for a family is $49,719. Males have a median income of $35,385 versus $25,733 for females. The per capita income for the town is $19,714. 17.8% of the population and 12.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 27.5% are under the age of 18 and 9.0% are 65 or older.
