Mining

A continuous miner designed for driving coal headings in medium to thick seams. The machine is crawler-mounted and equipped with two triple-arm rotating cutting units and a chain conveyor. The cut coal is discharged on to the chain conveyor which delivers into shuttle or mine cars. Also called Goodman-type 500 miner. See also:continuous miner. (references)
