Flushing is a city located in Genesee County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 8,348.Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.3 km² (4.3 mi²). 11.2 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.92% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 8,348 people, 3,435 households, and 2,366 families residing in the city. The population density is 747.8/km² (1,936.7/mi²). There are 3,558 housing units at an average density of 318.7/km² (825.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.98% White, 0.63% African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.37% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races. 1.61% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 3,435 households out of which 29.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.8% are married couples living together, 10.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% are non-families. 28.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 2.92. In the city the population is spread out with 23.0% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 19.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 84.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 80.7 males. The median income for a household in the city is $54,010, and the median income for a family is $64,726. Males have a median income of $52,794 versus $31,502 for females. The per capita income for the city is $24,697. 4.7% of the population and 4.4% of families are below the poverty line. Flushing (population 45,000, Dutch Vlissingen) is a city in the southwestern Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland, on the former island of Walcheren.The municipality also comprises the following towns, villages and townships: Oost-Souburg, Ritthem (West-Souburg is just a quarter).
Having a strategic location between the Scheldt river and the North Sea, Flushing has been a important harbour for centuries. It was granted city rights in 1315.

Flushing, New York is a section of the borough of Queens in New York City.Before the consolidation of New York City in 1898, Flushing was a town in Queens County, and the United States Postal Service still treats Flushing as a separate town. Downtown Flushing is currently a thriving business and residential area, with large Chinese and Korean communities (see Chinatown).
Flushing contains La Guardia Airport, one of three major New York area airports; Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets baseball team; and Flushing Meadow-Corona Park, which includes the Queens Botanical Garden and the site of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs.

Flushing is located at 40°8'55" North, 81°3'55" West (40.148543, -81.065320)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 900 people, 380 households, and 250 families residing in the village. The population density is 579.2/km² (1,491.0/mi²). There are 434 housing units at an average density of 279.3/km² (719.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.56% White, 1.00% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.11% from other races, and 0.22% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 380 households out of which 25.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, 11.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.2% are non-families. 30.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.93. In the village the population is spread out with 20.6% under the age of 18, 10.3% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.2 males. The median income for a household in the village is $26,875, and the median income for a family is $35,972. Males have a median income of $28,523 versus $17,768 for females. The per capita income for the village is $14,917. 17.4% of the population and 14.8% of families are below the poverty line.
