Fluphenazine (Prolixin®) ) is a typical antipsychotic drug. Fluphenazine is sometimes given via injection, usually once or twice per month.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include: dry-mouth, muscle-stiffness, muscle-cramping, tardive dyskinesia, tremors, and weight-gain. The risk of tardive dyskinesia is ~4%. These symptoms can be permanent, despite discontinuation of the medication.
