Eastman is a town located in Crawford County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 790.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 188.0 km² (72.6 mi²). 185.1 km² (71.5 mi²) of it is land and 3.0 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.57% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 790 people, 287 households, and 225 families residing in the town. The population density is 4.3/km² (11.1/mi²). There are 475 housing units at an average density of 2.6 persons/km² (6.6 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.37% White, 0.13% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.38% from two or more races. 0.25% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 287 households out of which 35.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.0% are married couples living together, 5.2% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 21.3% are non-families. 18.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.75 and the average family size is 3.11. In the town the population is spread out with 28.5% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 105.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 111.6 males. The median income for a household in the town is $38,750, and the median income for a family is $46,094. Males have a median income of $31,667 versus $21,080 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,317. 10.0% of the population and 4.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 9.8% are under the age of 18 and 17.0% are 65 or older.

Eastman is a village located in Crawford County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 437.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 9.3 km² (3.6 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 437 people, 163 households, and 109 families residing in the village. The population density is 47.1/km² (122.2/mi²). There are 170 housing units at an average density of 18.3 persons/km² (47.5 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.25% White, 0.00% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.29% from two or more races. 1.83% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 163 households out of which 37.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% are married couples living together, 0.6% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 33.1% are non-families. 30.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.43. In the village the population is spread out with 31.8% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 96.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.7 males. The median income for a household in the village is $32,321, and the median income for a family is $41,250. Males have a median income of $29,583 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the village is $12,922. 10.7% of the population and 5.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 8.8% are under the age of 18 and 20.6% are 65 or older.

Eastman is located at 32°11'52" North, 83°10'45" West (32.197760, -83.179271)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.2 km² (5.1 mi²). 13.2 km² (5.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.20% is water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 5,440 people, 2,154 households, and 1,318 families residing in the city. The population density is 411.8/km² (1,067.3/mi²). There are 2,418 housing units at an average density of 183.1/km² (474.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 60.28% White, 37.35% African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 1.16% from other races, and 0.44% from two or more races. 1.80% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,154 households out of which 27.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.9% are married couples living together, 19.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.8% are non-families. 35.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 2.96. In the city the population is spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 92.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 77.4 males. The median income for a household in the city is $23,604, and the median income for a family is $30,500. Males have a median income of $27,292 versus $20,497 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,332. 23.5% of the population and 20.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 33.1% are under the age of 18 and 25.0% are 65 or older.
